RNMS Inc was founded by Rachel Sikwane, a commercial lawyer specialising in IP. Rachel is passionate about helping companies commercialise their IP assets. She has over fifteen years’ experience in providing clients with strategic and legal IP advice on commercial and transactional matters, as well as on contentious IP matters. Her expertise extends to matters relating to the development, production, finance and distribution of television and film productions, as well as data privacy laws. She has acted for and advised several local, international and multi-national clients, varying from start-ups and established companies, artists and government departments, in various industries including, among others, the fast-moving consumer goods, retail, financial, technology, entertainment and manufacturing industries. Each year since 2022, Rachel has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers™ in South Africa for IP Law publication. Rachel is a qualified trade mark practitioner and one of a handful of people in South Africa that holds the Certified Licensing Professional™ credential. This credential is a professional designation intended to distinguish those who have demonstrated experience, proficiency, knowledge and understanding of licensing and commercialisation of IP through involvement in patenting, marketing, negotiation, legal and intellectual asset management. She has written numerous articles on IP related matters, which have been published in various publications distributed throughout South Africa and worldwide.
